Yeah, that's me. Once, I had everything: power, looks, fame, an obscene amount of money, a trophy wife, and a beautiful little boy. Then, in a blink of an eye my enviable life was taken away. I was left with nothing except my dirty money and my heart of stone. I looked in the mirror and could not recognize myself. God had a sense of humor. I was ugly Brett King, Billionaire. I was ugly inside and now I was ugly outside too. It was divine justice. I retreated to my castle in Wales and allowed no one to come face to face with me.

My staff carried out my instructions and asked no questions. The only thing left to me was to acquire more money that I would never spend. The months passed and I grew accustomed to my isolation. As I roamed about alone I even began to appreciate the darkness of my life.

I lost interest in the world outside the thick walls of my castle. Nothing held any interest for me anymore. Until she came. Charlotte Conrad, the nanny. At the end of every evening we communicated through the intercom system.

She kept me informed about the progress she was making with my son, Zachary. I was just an employer listening to his employee, but slowly, insidiously, I began to imagine her young body; soft and sensuous against mine.

I wanted to take her. I wanted to hear her talk dirty to me. I wanted her to unleash the wild, unrestrained animal that was lurking inside me. I was becoming addicted A Standalone Billionaire Romance.

It reminded me of a gothic style read which are a weakness of mine! Also I love a scarred reclusive hero!!! Review to come!

His mother is demanding and his father stays in his room at all times. King survived a fire accident and half of his face is covered with a golden mask, to hide the sad memories.

He almost never goes out and his son is scared of him. Also,he only visits him at night. But with this nanny, it feels different. However, the story is still under developed for my tastes.

As a nanny, I think you will always influence the child you spend time with. Bear in mind, you spend all day, every day with them. But there are rules and boundaries set by the parents, and you do not cross those. The author somehow forgot about this part, it seems. The Man in the Mirror opens up plenty of topics for discussion and in the end, it is a quick and enjoyable read. Sep 25, Snow rated it liked it Shelves: romance , billionaire , disability , arc , I know, it's a different aspect and a different storyline with merely similar subject the story concerns with, but in this book, the main thing that I couldn't find but I have in Disfigured love was the emotional connection between the main characters.

I needed that to feel complete and I couldn't find it or move forward beyond their mutual appeal and mystified allure for one another. Thus making this story shadowed by my own reflections of the thing I know Georgie can deliver to the point of no return, but not here.

Nevertheless, for the rest of you who are not deterred by the emotions and recollections past LOL this is a solid romance with a little bit of angst and a very huge HEA. View all 3 comments. One of my known weaknesses is the Beauty and the Beast thing. I really really love that for some crazy reason. And so when I stumbled upon this one I was really excited. Sadly though, I didnt like this one. Ive finished it some time ago and I just thought about it really hard. I can honestly say that now. Be warned. I could for the life of me not understand how this wonderful mentor of his sprouted something so vile and selfish.

It makes me question the greatness of said mentor and it makes me think really bad things about the male MC for choosing to spend his life with such a person. This guy, the great Brett King, has more money that he knows what to do with, so much money he bought a castle for the hell of it and had the landscape dug up to supply his greatness with internet cables so he could do his work.

I have no problem with his internet cable. But can you honestly tell me that a man with that much money cannot make a plan with some highly sophisticated computer program to chat with his kid on a regular basis? Brett supplies the money, he holds all the power, as made abundantly clear when he at long last grew a pair and decided to put said power to use.

If you think so badly of someone how can you allow them full access to your child?

Did you know that mirrors can be very disturbing for someone with dementia? For some people, seeing their reflection in a mirror can cause anxiety, anger, or even hysterical terror. If your older adult starts acting irrationally , look around the room for mirrors or reflective surfaces. Differences in lighting could also accidentally create a mirror effect.

This book is the most inciteful book on the issues facing Men in today's world that I have ever read. The author does a masterful job at using real life examples to make biblical points. A must read.

I was 34 years old when I could no longer escape the man I never wanted to see again. He was sentenced to 24 years in jail. I was 7 years old. Almost every year, my mother and I would leave the house before the sun came up and make the hourlong drive from Oklahoma City to Lexington, Okla. Upon entering the center, men and women who smelled of cigarettes and old coffee rifled though our things. I acutely remember the sense of dread that came over me when I learned that my Transformer toys were made of metal and, therefore, not allowed into the penitentiary.
