Verified Purchase. There has been some confusion about the aspect ratio of this film, and for good reason. No format since VHS has released it as a Full Frame film, so naturally people assume the original was done in widescreen, which is how the DVD and even the foreign release Blu-ray has released it up until now. However, these widescreen releases are crop jobs that lose valuable parts of the whole drawings, which were , including sometimes chopping off the letters of animate words, such as in the "i before e" song sequence.

It also renders a very claustrophobic version of the film. This new Blu-ray release corrects all that. If you haven't seen this film on VHS or in the theater, you have likely never seen it with all of its original drawings fully presented.

I know it's a widescreen world, but this full frame release is the correct one. The picture quality isn't anything impressive on this Blu-ray, but as always it's better than the DVD, especially with the aspect ratio problems solved. And the film itself is great. Tomsde Top Contributor: Photography. This movie brought bacck great childhood memories as the first Charlie Brown feature film; I saw it in the movie theater when it first came out..

I think it was indicative of it's time and has a touch of "Yellow Submarine" psychedelic look particularly in the Rockefeller Center scene. The restoration job was very good; it looked like a new movie and I was pleased by the fact they they retained original aspect ration instead of cropping it to make it widescreen.

I love this movie. By now most people looking at it or for it have probably already seen the movie and know the plot. To summarie, Charlie Brown actually Sort of. He enters a Spelling Bee and his success takes him to the big city. But I think this move, at this point in time is more than just Charlie Brown and the spelling bee. To me, this movie is a tradition.

And I remember that the movie had loads of references to popular and funny moments within the comic, from Charlie's baseball teams to Linus' blanket. But to me, where the movie really shines is with none other than Vince Guaraldi, of course, and the music and musical scenes. Who can forget the up-beat "Champion Charlie Brown" played with guitar and his jubilance being put on ice by his 'friends'? And what about Snoopy skating in Rockefeller Park in what was my favorite version of the Guaraldi classic, "Skating"?

The song was so beautifully done with lush strings and arrangements, just like every other song featured in the movie. This comes highly recommended. Because as much as I loved the movie, I perhaps enjoyed the soundtrack even more. Before I begin my review, let me start by saying that this was not the first Peanuts movie I watched, the Christmas special was, but I watched this when I was 8, and sporadically but not often over the years, even leaving a gap for about 10 years.

I watched it not long ago with my fiance to show her the other movies outside of the holiday specials, I recalled every scene to a T and loved it now like I did then. But let's take a closer look. First of all, please understand that the point of Charlie Brown's character is that "he's every child in every town. He gets socked with line drives that gets him out of his clothes, he contends with a kite eating tree, and Lucy pulling away his football among other things.

That's who Charlie Brown is, he can't help it, that's life. But he has a chance to show them that he can be be a winner by entering in a class spelling bee with success, then other spelling bees. The whole movie is based around Charlie Brown and a good portion of it is around him and the spelling bee.

There are other scenes in here which don't help the story along so arguably don't need to be in the movie, but if you don't think of those scenes like that, you have a better chance of appreciating the beauty in the scene. The different animation, the music, Schultz seems to be experimenting with the limits of what animation could do in the 's. Even though the scenes are erroneous, the scenes are regarded as some of the most memorable, and it's not just me.

The plot is realistic for Peanuts and is a good example of how Peanuts is for kids of all ages. One person found this helpful. Peanuts videos are always enjoyable to watch. I always loved watching this movie, so I was glad when they put it out on a DVD. We were kids when we first saw it, so it brought back a lot of good memories.

We loved it then and still do now that are child is old enough to appreciate Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown was a big hit with our child! They don't make em like this anymore. Would definitely recommend! See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. This arrived on time but it was useless it didn't work on anyofe my players, computer or even my multi dvd.

I asked for a replacement. I got a refund instead which wasnt what I wanted.

Charley Nebo: The Forrest Gump of the Old West

In writing my book I tried, to the best of my memory and with the help of a lot of people , to relate and have a true story about the things that we did as children and adults about growing up and living in a small town in Alabama. Even though times were hard then, I feel very fortunate to have grown up during that time and in that place. I believe that my life has been guided and protected by a Higher Being and I thank God for looking after me and guiding my life. I also had some great teachers which I am thankful for knowing. Most of our teachers loved us and tried to help, when they could, to prepare for our future. All this gave me confidence to go into adult life and knew that I had my future in my hand and could make my life and that I alone am responsible for my actions. I believe that growing up in Roanoke gave me the knowledge and background to have a great life, for which I am thankful, and I hope for many more good years. Billys parents both worked for Handley Manufacturing Company.

Apr 9, - Photo gallery of the women who have played Charlie's Angels over the years The characters played by this iconic trio were always in formation, looking chic as ever Even when taking down the bad guy, these Angels were the epitome We love this matching orange silk look worn by these '70s Angels.

Charley Nebo had a knack for showing up where the action was—driving Longhorns for Charles Goodnight, tending cattle for John Chisum, hobnobbing with Billy the Kid and riding amid the Sioux at the time of Wounded Knee. In the 19th century, a real fellow named Charley or Charlie Nebo took long rides out West and was always looking for adventure. By all accounts, he was a tobacco-chewing, epithet-spewing version of Forrest Gump, never mistaken for an intellectual yet present and active at many historic events. People who knew Nebo had a lot to say about him. His name often surfaces in personal letters and articles buried in obscure archives, and he makes cameo appearances in a number of books and memoirs.

For 18 years Charlie Goldsmith kept his healing ability out of the public eye. It wasn't until after his first hospital study, completed in by doctors a hospital in New York, that it became public. The study was designed to build a case for a double blind study in the future.

Jenny Curran : Do you ever dream, Forrest, about who you're gonna be? Forrest Gump : Who I'm gonna be? Jenny Curran : Yeah. Forrest Gump : Aren't-aren't I going to be me?
