He Who Finds A Wife
What does the Bible say about? He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun.
Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. When wickedness comes, contempt comes also, and with dishonor comes disgrace. The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the righteous of justice. My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.
But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. By this we may know that we are in him So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. And God blessed them. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. To be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven.
Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does.
Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. And I find something more bitter than death: the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is taken by her.
The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his mother taught him: What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb? What are you doing, son of my vows? Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink, lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.
For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,. But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring. This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry—it is no sin.
But whoever is firmly established in his heart, being under no necessity but having his desire under control, and has determined this in his heart, to keep her as his betrothed, he will do well. So then he who marries his betrothed does well, and he who refrains from marriage will do even better.
But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am. To the married I give this charge not I, but the Lord : the wife should not separate from her husband. And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful!

Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. And a husband must not divorce his wife. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

You may have heard of that popular scripture before. I won't use this space to draft a sermon on the matter, but instead to inspire the women who may have forgotten how powerful their influence is. The women who may have grown tired of waiting. The women who may have forgotten that the weight of their crown won't ever be too heavy for the right man. What I find most often is that we want to be found so bad that we indirectly do the looking. We go to the parties, cookouts and community meetings to be found.
