I would say that I suffered due to the lack of parental love. Had low self-esteem with little worth. No one seemed to care so I quit school. Then, I had problems dealing with others and found only a few jobs. I am sorry you went through all that, Crail. I pray that you will see just how much worth you have!! This…this is perfection. This is what I have wanted to say to my students—what I have said to many of them, but not in a manner that is nearly as well done as you have here.

Maybe if we all keep saying it some of them will start to listen…will start to change and see and value themselves for who they are. Thank you. Thank you so much for these kind words!!! Thanks for stopping by! I find what you said very inspiring. Like Liked by 2 people. Alicia — I am so glad this was encouraging to you!

You have so much worth — with or without a boyfriend! Seldom did dating produce real happiness. As the articles suggests, being free, being friends, sharing sports and activities being single really produced the most satisfaction and happiness. If coupling is best, you will discover that in the years following high school. The best is yet to come, be ready for it!

I have tagged every tennager I am friends with because I see it so much these days!! I am lucky that I am a mother of a fourteen year old daughter that is wiser than most!! She plays softball year round there fore I hear the boyfriend, they are popular, this one is pretty and I am ugly drama all the time!! I am do thankful for this post because it is exactly what teenagers need to be doing today!! Amen, a thousand times over! There is a definite disconnection between friends that occurs during these times and she knows it.

I wish young people would just realize how true these facts are! Way too much pressure and you miss out on a lot. Exactly what you have stated in your ten reasons. I agree with most of this. No your self worth should not hinge on it but , a lot kids have missed the training we had on appreciate and becoming clothing.

That is something that matters no matter who you are. Neat, clean appreciate clothing for the situation is a life lesson that has been pushed aside and over looked to the point that how we appear in public has gone to the dogs and it is disheartening to see the results of this lack of caring. I see it in my own children and grandchildren and I know for certain they were brought up to know better. Although I am waaaay past high school years…… I did have boyfriends in middle and high school.

We had such a great time as couples and everything was innocent, as I was a nice girl and my dates respected me. I had my first real heartbreak but that was a learning experience. I have 5 grandchildren that are teens. They have had innocent relationships so far but I agree with all you said now.

Excellent piece—very well written. I identify with a lot of it. The only thing missing is You can focus on your identity in Christ. I agree with you wholeheartedly! I am a public school teacher and I shared this with my students — but I agree that our identity is completely in HIM. I print this out and give it to my junior high students.

I just read this to Rylin! He is going through ALL of this currently. He asked me to tell you!! He wants me to print it off for him! I surely liked it because I too have the same feelings abot love. That was exactly what I wanted to listen! You are commenting using your WordPress.

Not for real, mind you. But in their own minds. You can wear sweats. I watch lots of teens stress about what they should wear every day to school. The right person will see your true beauty no matter what you wear. You can figure yourself out.

I watch too many teenagers spending way too much time figuring out if someone likes them. You can focus on your friends. My favorite year in high school was my senior year. You can observe. You can learn a whole lot about someone by watching from a distance. How do they treat others?
